Welcome to the World Bailey Marie!
February 2, 2012... Mommy's 33rd birthday. I went to work that day, came home, and had a lovely birthday dinner celebration at Saladang (my favorite Thai restuarant), and then came back to our house and had bday cake with the family... After everyone left, I started having contractions. I knew in my mind that Bailey was coming that night. I layed down with Zoe in her bed until she fell asleep. As I layed there, I was holding her tight and stroking her hair as she fell asleep.... So peaceful I thought. I whispered to her "you're gonna wake up in the morning and have a baby sister"...
I then told Justin that my contractions were pretty strong and that we should start tracking them. I had downloaded an app on my phone just that morning that was a contraction counter. I started using it. My contractions were about 3 minutes apart and lasting about 45 seconds each (see below post for a screen shot of the contractions taken on my phone). I was so scared of going to the hospital and them telling me to go home because my contractions weren't long enough or something. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have waited so long... An hour and a half in, Justin called my sister who was coming to spend the night with Zoe, and my Mom, who was going to go to the hospital with us to tell them that it was time....
Once we got to the hospital, checked in, and were setteled, my contractions were getting more intense. By that time it was about 1:15 am. By 2:30 am I made the decision that I needed the epidural, but my water broke and labor was coming super fast! During Lamaze Classes they always tell you to have a focal point when in labor to help you breathe thru each contraction. The only thing that got me thru the labor was picturing myself just hours earlier lying down with Zoe in her bed stroking her head until she fell asleep. She was my focal point that night... There was no time for the epidural to kick in and the nurses were on the phone telling the doctor to RUN! It was time for Bailey Marie to make her debut...
45 minutes later, at 3:15 am and only a few pushes later, we welcomed Baby Bailey Marie Weintraub into the world. She arrived weighing 7 lbs, 6 oz, and was 20 3/4 inches long. A short, fast 4 hour labor start to finish...
Healthy, happy baby and mommy!!

Contraction Counter - February 2, 2012
This is a screen shot of my contractions at home at around 11:30 pm. About 2 minutues and 30 seconds apart, lasting about 35 seconds each... They say you should go to the hospital when they are 5 minutes apart... I probably shouldn't have waited so long!!! Any longer, and Bailey might have been born at home or on the freeway!!
